BRBT Marketing and Communications Director
Part Time, Hybrid position
Summary: Direct all marketing and communications efforts, ensuring cohesive and
effective promotion of the Ballet’s initiatives, performances, events, and brand; Ensure
the successful composition, design, and scheduling of a multi-channel communication
strategy to provide timely and relevant updates via email newsletters, social media,
print/digital collateral, and organic/paid media, among others; Support fundraising and
development efforts by creating compelling development collateral.
Messaging and Storytelling:
–Develop comprehensive, long-term communications and content strategies aligned
with key goals, including ticket sales and brand awareness.
–Create and manage a comprehensive editorial calendar to schedule content creation
and publication across different platforms, including event promotion, brand awareness,
donor communications and CTAs.
–Create and manage engaging content for various platforms, including blog posts,
social media (X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) posts, email campaigns, etc.
–Design and print various marketing and development materials, including season
brochures, postcards, posters, flyers, reports, case statements, and impact reports; and
other printed collateral.
–Be available to acquire content and design assets during off hours or as needed.
Media Relations, Planning, Buying & Vendor Relations:
–Draft and distribute effective and informative press releases; – Engage journalists,
publications, and media outlets to amplify messages, initiatives, and programming of the
organization.
–Work with artistic directors to determine budget spend for the fiscal year.
–Coordinate and manage online and offline advertising contracts, requisitions, and ad
buys across all channels including pay per click campaigns, social media and traditional
media placements. (billboards, print, TV, radio, digital, and social media).
–Pitch stories and schedule media interviews with BRBT staff.
Public Relations:
–Identify and secure earned media opportunities to promote BRBT.
–Attend community events and build networks to promote BRBT in our community.
–Support special events as requested.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
–Develop and monitor KPIs to track progress toward communication goals.
–Conduct audience and market research to identify user needs and content gaps.
–Monitor and analyze performance metrics for all marketing strategies and campaigns.
–Prepare data-driven reports for the artistic directors and board of directors.
–Recommend adjustments to campaigns based on performance data to maximize
impact.
Desired Skills:
The following skills and qualifications represent our ideal candidate. We encourage

–Experience supporting/leading communications efforts for an organization (nonprofit or
art-related experience considered a plus);
–Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, planning, or a
related field;
–Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
–Strong organizational, project and time management skills with an eye for detail;
–Comfortable serving as an organizational spokesperson if/when called upon;
–Experience managing/designing websites, social media, and digital communications
platforms;
–Experience with graphic design, data analytics, conversion rate optimization, digital
and traditional media ad buying, excel/sheets and website design;
–Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; familiarity with tools like Canva,
Mailchimp, Imovie, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, X, TikTok or
equivalent;
–Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit; and
–Dance background or demonstrated passion for arts in our community.

After an initial fully in-office period, BRBT employees may work up to two/three days per
week remotely as the role allows. As a BRBT employee, the successful candidate will
be expected to participate in BRBT events, occasionally on evenings and weekends
with advance notice. This is a part time position providing up to 25 hours per week.
Hourly wage will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must submit a resume
