2016 REGIONAL DANCE AMERICA SOUTHWEST FESTIVAL
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
RDA Southwest Festival
An RDA member company since 1981, BRBT will host the annual RDA/Southwest Festival for the first time in April 2016. Bringing 22 ballet companies from a five-state region to Baton Rouge for four days, this festival will include:
- Classes with nationally recognized master dance faculty
- Seminars by experts in dance-related fields such as nutrition and medicine
- Performances featuring the region’s best choreography and emerging artists
- Almost $40,000 in scholarships to summer intensives at distinguished ballet institutions all over the country
Why does this matter?
Art does not flourish in isolation; it grows in an atmosphere of candor and sharing. This festival presents an extraordinary opportunity for dancers and choreographers from across the region to connect and gain perspective on their craft as they train with some of the best teachers in the country.
The value to our community
At the intersection of arts, culture and tourism, the 2016 RDA/Southwest Festival will have a significant cultural, economic, and social impact on our city, state and region. Increased tourism revenue will benefit the local economy, volunteer opportunities will bring community members together for a great cause and audiences in Baton Rouge will benefit from increased opportunities to experience high quality dance in their city.
This prestigious dance festival will bring internationally recognized artists to our city, enhance the visibility and regional awareness of ballet in the Baton Rouge area, highlight Louisiana as a cultural hub for dance in the region and allow BRBT to pursue its mission with larger scope than ever before.
